The Heroes - So Far

The show Heroes is definitely the best written and produced series to debut so far this fall 06' season. Each week's show provides more insight, clues and cliffhangers which keep us attached to its characters and riveting plot. If you've missed the first 4-5 episodes, you've missed alot, such as meeting who our "Heroes" will be:

Isaac Mendez - an artist and heroin addict. He discovers that when he's high he paints things that happen in the future. He paints a series of paintings that Peter Petrelli sees connected together, informing them they must save a cheerleader.

Nathan & Peter Petrelli - a set of brothers who both have the ability/power to levitate or fly. Nathan is running for senator and trying to keep things under wraps, while his brother wants to learn more about their powers.

Claire Bennet - an indestructible cheerleader, who's unable to die or get hurt. She's tested her powers by dropping herself 6 stories to the ground several times, had her hand regenerate after it got mangled in a garbage disposal, and walked into a burning building to save someone. She left the fire unscathed, no burns. Her adoptive father appears to be a mysteriously evil agent tracking down the heroes.

Niki Sanders - A single mom who does webcam stripping so that she can provide for herself and her son. She also owes a large debt to some very shady mobster-types, who keep coming after her. She discovers that she has an evil & violent side to her personality. She blacks out and when she awakes finds that she has violently disposed of those around her. She also can see the violent reflection of herself in the mirror.

Hiro Nakamura - Japanese office worker who always wanted to be able to stop and reverse time. One day he concentrates hard enough and does just that, as the clock at his work suddenly ticks backwards. He discovers he is able to time-travel and stop/reverse time. He sees himself on a comic book in New York entitled "9th Wonder".

Matt Parkman - a deadbeat cop who keeps failing the exam to become detective. All of a sudden he is able to hear people's thoughts. With this power he locates a missing girl hiding in a secret compartment in the home of her murdered parents. He is promoted to the FBI and also able to read his wife's mind and make amends with her.

Mohinder Suresh - A genetics professor from India, whose father is murdered. He finds that his father was conducting very important research, which is unfinished. Mohinder decides to take on his father's work and travels to New York. Early on, Claire Bennet's evil father warns him to stop the research efforts. It is unclear at this point if Mohinder possesses any special powers.

D.L. Hawkins - Niki's fugitive husband who was serving a prison term for murder. He escapes prison and comes back to see Niki, to let her know he was framed. His son, Micah, asks how he got out of prison and D.L. says its a secret but that he just walked out. It is soon discovered he can morph/phase through and into solid objects. He and Niki have reconciled despite early differences, where DL learned he had been framed by Niki's alter-ego Jessica, who killed several of Linderman's men and took off with a suitcase full of money. DL has since returned the suitcase and is trying to help Niki raise their son Micah and get their relationship on track.

Micah Sanders -
is the son of Niki and DL. Micah has the ability to manipulate electronics items by touching them. Examples are he was able to use a phone marked "Out of Order" by touching it and was able to touch an ATM and retrieve large amounts of cash from it. Micah had been raised mostly by his mother, Niki, while DL was incarcerated and then on the run from police.

Mr. Bennet aka HRG - Nicknamed HRG for his "Horn-rimmed glasses" he wears, Mr. Bennet is the surrogate father of Claire Bennet, the indestructible cheerleader. It was learned late in season 1 that Mr. Bennet adopted Claire from a top-secret organization dedicated to the finding of "heroes" for study, use and possibly elimination. Claire started to hate her father until she learned he had done alot to protect her and her family from danger. Recently it was discovered HRG was hiding Claire from the agency he works for, so he had "The Haitian" erase his memory and shoot him to make it look like Claire was kidnapped.

The Haitian - The Haitian has the ability to put his hand on someone's forehead and make them forget. Haitian is able to selectively delete a person's memories. He has used this power countless times on Claire Bennet's surrogate mother and also Claire's brother as well as best friend, Zach. Haitian was ordered to use the power on Claire to make her forget, but instead did not do so, as he was ordered by a "higher power" than HRG to keep Claire protected.

Sylar -
the main villain thus far, Gabrielle was revealed to be a son of a watchmaker. He enjoyed learning how to fix things and discovering how things work. This transferred over when he adopted special powers of telekinesis. Gabrielle then met Mohinder Suresh's father who was studying the various DNA mutated heroes. Gabrielle was the 1st contacted by Mr Suresh, and ended up getting angry, killing Dr Suresh, and stealing his list of heroes. Sylar, the serial killer of heroes is now on a murdering spree, finding names on the list so that he can kill them, remove their brains and steal their powers, 1 by 1. He currently has the powers of telekinesis, ability to melt down objects, super-hearing, ability to freeze people/objects, and possibly some aspects of flight and healing.

Ted Sprague -
The nuclear man, Ted learned that he was full of radiation, and in the process accidentally killed his own wife. He has the power to emit serious charges of radioactivity and can explode at any time. He recently worked with Matt Parkman to take the Bennet family hostage and learn the truth about things from Mr. Bennet. As Ted was about to explode in the Bennet home, Claire Bennet was able to get close enough to him to inject him with a tranquilizer. Ted is now being held captive by HRG's agency for study.

Wireless - a female hero we met briefly, she came to Ted Sprague's hideout, after displaying the ability to send wireless communications from her brain to computers, cell phones, etc. Wireless emailed Ted information and images of the items used by Mr. Bennet's "Primatech Paper Company" to inject the various heros. Wireless appeared on 1 episode so far.

Mr. Linderman - a dangerous mob/crime boss in Las Vegas, he runs an empire and enjoys cooking. Nathan Petrelli was sent by the FBI, wearing a wire, to catch Linderman saying something about his crime work. Nathan ended up going to try to kill Linderman and learned that Linderman knows alot about Nathan and Peter's powers, as well as Nathan's daughter, Claire Bennet.

Simone Devenaux - not necessarily a hero with superpowers, but was part of our story thus far. Simone was the daughter of a man who died from Cancer, but was being attended to by Peter Petrelli. Simone was originally dating Isaak until she left him due to his drug habit, and ended up in the arms of Peter. After Isaak returned from his rehab, he tried to reconcile with Simone briefly. Isaak and Peter ended up in a fierce battle where Isaak tried to shoot Peter, but ended up shooting Simone, killing her. HRG"s organization moved in to cover Isaak's mishap, and are reporting that Simone is in Europe on travel.

We were presented with a list on 1 episode with many more names of heroes we have yet to meet....Stay tuned..
