If you saw the 1999 football movie Varsity Blues, then you saw Heroes star Ali Larter in one of her earliest and maybe best roles as Darcy Sears. She also was made famous in the first couple "Final Destination" horror flicks as well. The reason she gained fame in Varsity Blues was because she played the conniving cheerleader who was trying to sleep with the new star quarterback, behind her boyfriend's back (the seriously-injured quarterback).

In one particular scene Darcy (Larter) tries her best to seduce Mox (James Van Der Beek), the new star quarterback. She soon comes out wearing nothing more than a few splats of whipped cream, in bikini form. The Ali Larter whipped cream bikini scene continues to be a favorite of many of her fans. Larter told an interviewer from the Daily Mail the following regarding that scene:

For my first-ever movie scene I was completely naked except for a bikini made of whipped cream (pictured). That was my first scene in Varsity Blues and I had no clue what I was supposed to do. I knew if I started crying it would be hard to stop – so I cried for seven hours solid before filming started. The scene must have worked OK because so many people remember it.

While we won't see Larter donning whipped cream in the next installment of Heroes, we may see her in wet, water form. If you recall the last episode of Fugitives started with a sneak peak of a watery villainess entering into an agent's apartment in water form. Headlines revealed that someone was killing off agents, most likely the new Larter-sister character seeking vengeance for the death of her sister Tracy Strauss.

Fans are still anxiously awaiting Season 3 of NBC Heroes, which won't arrive until Fall 08'. Meanwhile, NBC is offering free TV shows via its website, including Heroes. A Seattle Times recent commentary piece discusses the many ways to watch TV these days. With Heroes and other shows you've been able to buy from iTunes (not anymore for Heroes), rent the DVD's from Netflix, and now watch completely free if you enjoy hi speed internet. Hulu.com is another site which is brand new to the field and offers Fox/NBC shows with ads running on them.

There was a special Heroes music soundtrack released this week featuring many musical artists. The inner cover art was done by a Baltimore artist, Steven Parke, who drew the various musicians in Heroes graphic novel style. Now Bob Dylan and David Bowie are true comic book legends just like Hiro Nakamura and Peter Petrelli. Parke has also done work on the Sopranos and Six Feet Under DVD packages. A new Hero will be unveiled today during the big game. Not from our favorite NBC TV show, Heroes, but from the Marvel Comics world. The second quarter of today's Superbowl 42 game will feature a preview of the new Superhero movie, Ironman. The movie is set to star Robert Downey Jr as the Marvel character. MTV.com has a sneak peek screen shot and article here.

The movie according to IMDB will hit theaters in May 2008 and also stars Terrance Howard and Gwyneth Paltrow. Downey plays Tony Stark whose secret superhero identity is Iron Man. Based on the popular comic book, Stark creates a life support suit to keep him alive following a bad accident, then becomes a serious crime fighter. Marvel has translated several other comic book franchises to the big screen including X-Men, Spiderman and Fantastic 4.

She's been a cheerleader in Heroes and a sequel to Bring it On. Now Hayden Panettiere is set for yet another role in the cheer uniform. According to Chicago Tribune:

"After having shaken her pompoms in "Bring It On: All or Nothing" and currently in NBC's "Heroes," the 18-year-old actress is reportedly in talks to play yet another cheerleader in "I Love You, Beth Cooper.

Reuters reports that producers hope to start filming in the spring.

The actress herself isn't unaware of the potential for being typecast. In a conference call with reporters last year, she lamented, "Because of the fact that I'm blond, ... people look at me as either the popular cheerleader type or just the blond."

I haven't followed the NBC Heroes graphic novels online but many die-hard fans look to these for more info about Heroes and their stories. Some tell new side tales away from the show as well. One in particular involves a mysterious man named Richard Drucker, who is a long-lost relative of Hana Gitleman. You may have remembered Hana from just a few episodes of Heroes in Season 1. She was the character Wireless, capable of intercepting and sending communication via phone, computer, etc. She met up with Ted Sprague and Matt Parkman to tell them about the Company and it's method of tagging, tracking and taking out Heroes.

Richard Drucker is believed to be the uncle of Hana aka Wireless. The official NBC Heroes site and several other sites have various clues and info about the mysterious man.

According to NBC's Heroes site: The Company's file on Drucker states that he can "intercept, generate, and interpret electronic, digital, and radio transmissions" and lists the Kingdom of Bhutan as his last known location.

The NBC Heroes site also features a section all about Richard Drucker. There's also an interesting chat online between Hana and Micah Sanders. It's a real time IM session between the two and you can check out their conversations here at the Corinthian Las Vegas Site.

While checking out the official Heroes website the other day, I noticed a teaser for "Primatech's Security feeds". The link takes you straight to the Primatech site, where they now have mock security video feeds on display. They doesn't seem to hold any groundbreaking info or secrets from what I've seen so far, but you never know what clues might be hidden there.

Currently the Video Surveillance Manager for the site allows you to click on the various cameras and dates for surveillance feeds. There's zoom and other controls as well. One still frame shows Sylar in the lab with Suresh, from when they were preparing Sylar's cure. This was of course the same feed that Elle noticed while she was on duty at the Company. Another feed shows the plain hallways of Primatech. Clicking on a still frame will show a streaming video feed. Nothing too exciting, and no sound involved, but still worth seeing. I'm willing to bet there is something hidden in there, or there will be. If anyone catches anything or knows of any hidden "Easter egg" type things there, let me know.

If you get bored, check out the Primatech security console. Never know who or what you might catch on those security feeds!

As you can imagine Heroes news is slow now that the show is done with Season 2. The reviews of the finale were less than stellar, but things still look promising for Season 3. Unfortunately there was bad news for another new show.

NBC has pulled the plug on another sci-fi hero type show, "Journeyman". The show was a modern day "Quantum Leap" which had the slot right after "Heroes" on Monday nights. Despite the 10 PM time slot, it was unable to pull in a decent audience to sustain itself. It seemed as if NBC was really trying to capitalize on the whole superhero style of show, with Bionic Woman as well. The show "Chuck" which came right before Heroes was able to stay alive.

2Snaps.com has a write up on the new novel "Saving Charlie". This book will feature the story of the relationship that Hiro Nakamura and Charlie (the super memory waitress) shared. If you recall Hiro teleported back in time during season 1 to try to save her. Unfortunately she died from a blood clot in here brain. The book arrives December 26th. Read more here.

Season 2 may be over, but the Heroes series lives on. You may have seen the recent advertisements on TV for the "Create Your Hero" campaign. The ongoing promotion presented by Sprint is a chance for fans to help develop a new Heroes character who will be part of live action webisodes next year. The character may also be worked into the NBC TV series at some point as well. Users can vote each week through December 17th, either online or via text exclusive on Sprint phones (HEROES text 6789), to choose all the characteristics of this new hero.

As we all know Claire has moved on from the traditional red and white cheer uniform she wore last season on Heroes and has now donned the new blue costume for her California high school.

The two most powerful heroes through Season 1 and now into Season 2 are Peter Petrelli and Gabriel Gray, aka "Sylar". Both are on similar paths in Season 2, as they are struggling to regain and use their powers. Peter has amnesia but is able to work powers here and there. Sylar seems to be sick or injured and needs to be cured to regain use of his. This may be a clever budget ploy by the creators of the show, as having these guys able to unleash all powers all season long could really run up the efx budget.

Many of the powers on Peter's list have not been displayed but fit the requirements for him to gain them as he was near the person with that power. The question mark is if Peter possesses Molly Walker's power to locate people, because it was made to appear like a "very special power" Molly has. He was in proximity of her during the final showdown with Sylar, end of Season 1, but has not displayed the power yet. Also, Peter was nearby to the Haitian up on the pigeon coop when HRG and Haitian shot tranquilizers at Peter and Claude. Peter has yet to erase anyone's memory, but this may explain why he is having trouble with his own.

Things get interesting in that the Wikipedia entry on Sylar mentions that Sylar may have several unknown powers. He was on a murder spree early during season 1, yet we never were made aware of the victims' powers. Sylar killed both of Molly Walker's parents, but only took the brain of her father. A few of Sylar's victims were found frozen, so it's unknown which murder victim he took that from.

Wikepidia also claims Sylar has Charlie's "super memory" power. To the best of my recollection, Charlie suffered a brain clot that she died from first, when Hiro went back in time to save her. Sylar was unable to take the power of "persuasion" from Eden as she shot herself in the head before he could kill her himself. Sylar also exhibits some sort of "hard to kill" ability, making it possible this is another power he has.

It will be interesting to see what other new powers each guy gains as this season unfolds. And we also anxiously await the next showdown between these two mega forces in the Heroes universe...

Actor Milo Ventimiglia (Peter Petrelli) of NBC's Heroes has now added directing to his TV resume. His short comedic series "It's a Mall World" made its debut this past week during MTV's Real World Sydney. The series will consist of 13 episodes, which are under 5 minutes in length each and feature employees of a record shop as well as quirky customers. Buzzsugar.com describes it as "it has kind of a High Fidelity-meets-Empire Records vibe going on".

The latest episode of the short series is available to watch here. The 13 part series will air during Real World Sydney's Wednesday 10PM EST slot time on MTV.

The show had a premiere for various celebs to attend, including Heroes' alumni such as Hayden Pannettiere (Claire), Zachary Quinto (Sylar), Adrian Pasdar (Nathan) and Masi Oka (Hiro). View pics from the July 31 premiere here.

Apparently a doctored photo of Hayden Panettiere holding a sex toy was circulating the internet as a of a few days ago. The site What Would Tyler Durden Do shows a comparison of the real image to the fake and criticizes PerezHilton.com (another gossip site) for publishing the image and inviting readers to comment as to what Hayden was up to.

In other news, a few DVD's have been out for a little while now featuring Heroes' stars in supporting/cameo roles or other capacities. "Rocky Balboa" has been out on DVD for quite a while now and features Milo Ventimiglia (Peter Petrelli) in a great supporting role as Rocky's son, Robert. In fact Milo turns in one of the better performances in the movie (go figure). "Bridge to Terabithia" is a Disney fantasy film and features a song recorded by Hayden Panettiere. Jack Coleman who plays Noah Bennet aka "HRG", can be seen in an episode in Season 3 of the HBO series "Entourage". He plays a producer on the show who discusses a film opportunity with Vince and his agents. Jayma Mays who had the short-lived role of "Charlie" on Heroes (the girl with super memory) was also in several episodes of Entourage Season 3.

The above mentioned song and cameo roles are currently on DVD's available through rental at Blockbuster or Netflix. Check them out if you need a fix of your favorite characters from the show while you await the show's return this fall.
