Season 1: Episode 9 - "Cheerleader Saved"

In what was probably the best episode of the show Heroes so far, Peter finally made good upon the prophecy to go save the cheerleader, and hopefully save the world..

In this episode, we saw more of Mohinder in India, coming to grips that he must continue what his father was working on. Mohinder finds the boy he had been seeing in his dreams/visions. The boy tells him people come to him to have him answer questions. Mohinder says he has 2 paths to choose from. The boy says that he already has his answer. Later in the show, Mohinder goes back to the computer running encrypted codes and is able to enter the correct password, displaying a list of Heroes his father had found.

Nikki purchases a serious sniper gun, and informs the man she buys from that she is going after her husband who kidnapped their son. Actually it's Jessica, the evil part of her personality doing this. Meanwhile Micah and his dad are on the run, and Micah takes off. DL fins Micah running on the road and Micah says hes doing what DL did to him and his mom. Micah informs DL that his mom is sick and tells him about "Jessica", a different part of her personality. At a diner, as Micah and DL are leaving, Micah informs DL that he called his mom to tell her where they are. As DL tells him to get into the car, and goes to get in the car himself, we see Nikki with sniper rifle, pulling the trigger. Bang. We do not know if DL is still alive.

Meanwhile, Nathan is brought the painting Peter requested. Nathan looks at the painting with Simone and tells her his brother has delusions and he needs to be helped. He throws paint all over the canvas and tells Simone he's saving Peter's life by doing so. Luckily, Simone has a digital photo of the painting, she shows Peter. Peter rushes off to Texas to save the cheerleader.

In Texas, it is the big homecoming game. Claire wins the Homecoming Queen title, thanks to her "geeky" friend inspiring other geeks at school to vote her in. Claire notes that its now different. All those who used to be her friends arent, and she has friends she never knew or talked to before. During all this, the cheerleader who took credit for rescuing the man from the fire, Jackie, insults Claire's friend by calling him gay. Claire lands a solid punch on her, prompting Claire's father to tell her she is grounded for the night, no homecoming. Claire's friend comes to her home that night and uses a ladder to her window to bust her out. Claire's father, Mr Bennett, is livid at this and takes off for the school to find her.

Finally, we have Peter show up at the school, looking at the trophy case. He bumps into Claire in the hallway as he is looking at the news clipping of the cheerleader who saved the man from the fire. Claire informs Peter that that girl isnt that special. Later Claire and Jackie are in the lockeroom, discussing how they used to be friends. Claire tells Jackie she was the one who saved the man, not Jackie. As they are sneering at one another, the lockeroom lights go out. Enter Sylar.

As the girls run through the lockeroom they turn a corner and are waiting. All of a sudden, Jackie is snatched by Sylar. He raises her off the ground up against a wall. Claire attempts to tackle him but he tosses her against a locker to the ground. Sylar murders Jackie in a very grusome scene, and points at Claire whispering "you're next". Claire takes off out of the lockeroom and into the hall, bumping into Peter again. Peter tells her to run. Sylar and Peter finally face each other. Sylar uses telekinesis to throw a bunch of locker panels at Peter, but they seem to veer off before getting to him. Peter doesnt stay and runs out.

Peter finds Claire in the bleachers/stadium area and tells her to run. Sylar then appears right before Peter. They grip one another, and next thing both are hurled together off a high roof down to the ground. Claire comes back over, and Peter absorbs her power, re-generating and able to re-adjust his messed up body. Peter asks if she was the cheerleader and if he saved the world. Claire says she doesn't know. Claire finds her father and tells him they have to help Peter, but Mr. Bennet says no the police will take care of things. Next thing we see is the cops arrive to Peter who is covered in blood. The cops instruct Peter to keep his hands up and take him away.

The final scene shows Hiro's friend sitting at the diner in Texas, and then next Hiro, being served by the waitress, Charlie, he went back to save. He tells her he is Hiro and he's there to save her. It is Charlie's birthday. The odd part of this is Hiro was not back "in the future" with his friend like he said, yet the wait staff at the diner knew of him and said he popped out of the girl's life weeks ago.
