Final Thoughts on Heroes Finale

What a wild ride we had this past season of ups and downs of cheering on various heroes' triumphs and personal struggles. The main question was would the finale live up to the hype? Well it did in many instances yet failed in others.

-It did sorta have that "happy ending" movie type feel to it and it seemed many of the lines towards the end were ultra-cheesy, including the Petrelli brothers expressing their brotherly love and Molly Walker yelling to Matt Parkman "You're my hero!".

- Sylar vs. Peter (Round 3? If you don't count the futuristic fight). Once again Peter couldn't do much vs. Sylar. Even then he had to use a newly gained power thanks to Niki, to punch the heck out of Sylar. Why does it seem Sylar knows how to use telekinesis yet Peter struggles with it. Peter also holds the ability to turn invisible, and you would think he could have done more.

- The fact Niki ran over to help out in the battle was strange too. She didn't really have any knowledge of who was good or bad and of who Sylar or Peter were. Unless she somehow knew Peter as Nathan's brother, but that was doubtful. A seemingly out of place and unexplainable scene?

- Again, it seems certain powers don't come into play at times. I think Hiro is a cool dude and glad he finally got to jab a sword into Sylar's gut, but why did Sylar not use telekinesis then? He used it every other time to shoot bullets back at Parkman, to choke out Peter...Hmmm

- So it appears Sylar will make that great villainous return. Biggest questions of the show, who saved Sylar? And 2, who is the villain Molly called "worse than the Boogeyman"? My early speculation here is that guy is the Haitian. He has all sorts of powers to block a hero's abilities, that makes him pretty dangerous in and of itself. Question would be what are his motives?

- Another speculation is that Linderman somehow lived, and was the one who got Sylar out of there. Or Candice. So it appears we will have all sorts of theories and ideas about what's going to happen next season on Volume 2: Generations. I'm crossing my fingers Hiro will not be back in ancient Japan for an extended period of time, because I'd prefer not to see Hiro style "Last Samurai" vignettes.

All in all, it was a decent finale with some cool moments, everyone using their powers and Nathan saving the world. And now we wait...
