Recap of Season 3 Episode 14: "A Clear & Present Danger"

Episode 14 opened with Tracy Strauss taking a call from the governor in her apartment/home. She flicked on the television to see Nathan Petrelli being interviewed about his "meteoric rise" in the Senate in just 3 months time. Nathan talked about being made privy to inside info on Americans and his duty to protect the American people. Tracy told the Governor she had no idea about any of this and said she was going to sleep.

As Tracy was getting into her robe for bed she noticed her window cracked open, then went over to take a look outside. Sensing something was wrong she carefully walked through her hallways. Suddenly, as she turned, a man dressed in all black with a mask, goggles and rifle was there. Tracy tried to grab his arm and freeze it, but it wore off due to his protective suit. Suddenly, Tracy was surrounded in the living room by armed masked intruders all in black. One walked up to her and looked into her eyes. She asked what they wanted and the man fired a tranquilizer dart into her, causing her to collapse. The man removed his mask to reveal a bald individual not yet met on Heroes. He picked up a cell phone and called someone to alert Mr. Petrelli "we got the first one".

Angela Bennet tried to convince Claire that Sylar was dead after they saw Primatech burn down. Claire said she's convinced that Sylar's out killing again, since her dad keeps going away on business trips, and a man's home in Memphis was found full of salt water. Claire told Angela it seems she's trying to keep her on the bench, so she'll go find Sylar by herself.

The scene shifted to showing Sylar entering a store with a record playing on an older record player. Sylar walked over to a bunch of watches, picking one up to examine. Suddenly, an older man pointed a shotgun at him from across the room and threatened to shoot the thief. Sylar asked if the man was named "Martin Gray", then revealed to him that he's his son and had some questions to ask him.

Matt Parkman and Dahpne argued about using their powers to get ahead. Matt asked Daphne why she couldn't take a bike home from work like normal people. Matt said he's never used his power to get to the top of the police force and Daphne reminded him its because he's currently a security guard. Daphne suggested Matt open his own private detective agency. Matt suggested they try to live like normal people. All of a sudden, Matt saw a vision of the precog standing in the room as Daphne said she would try normal.

Claire overheard Angela having a phone conversation saying how Claire had found an article about the man in Memphis who had been picked up. Claire listened in on a nearby phone receiver and discovered Angela was conversing with Nathan who asked that Claire be distracted so she doesn't find out stuff. Nathan said today is their big day for things. Angela saw Claire listening in causing Claire to leave. Angela told Nathan they have a bigger problem now.

Sylar confronted his father for abandoning him and his mother. Martin said Sylar's mother was a sick, infantile woman who he wanted out of a marriage with. Martin then informed Sylar he was given to him by his brother. Martin wrote down the contact info for Sylar. Sylar used his latest power to realize Martin was telling the truth. Martin asked him to leave and Sylar was ready to kill him, then held back and left.

Peter Petrelli was shown working as a paramedic. His coworker began asking about Peter's brother, Nathan and his latest speech to the people saying he would prevent those who are different from causing harm. The man quipped that Peter wouldn't know much about that, but Peter said he knew more than he would believe. Peter got a call from Claire by cell phone, with Claire warning him of Angel and Nathan's talk. Claire suggested that Nathan and Angela may be rounding up those with abilities. Claire said she'd go warn Matt Parkman, and Peter said he would go discuss this with his mother. As Peter got into a taxi cab, he was surprised to see Mohinder Suresh was the driver.

Peter and Mohinder joked about believing they were meant to do something extraordinary. Mohinder said he gave up thinking that, then turned the discussion to Nathan's view that those with abilities are a danger to the world. Mohinder said he was living proof of the danger involved. Suresh and Peter agreed to disagree, and Peter exited the cab, with Mohinder saying it was on him. Next another man got into the back seat and pointed a gun at Mohinder saying "just drive". Mohinder drove to the top of a parking lot building where armed men in all black were stationed. The man in Mohinder's cab told him to get in the van and that he was surrounded. As Mohinder got out of the cab he used a burst of super strength to rip the door off the taxi and smashed it into the man, knocking him down. The figures in black fired at Mohinder as he used the cab door to shield himself. A shot hit Mohinder in the shoulder and he took off running down through the parking garage.

As Mohinder was running, a small car raced in front of him. Inside was HRG who told Mohinder to get in if he wanted to live. As they drove towards the bottom of the parking garage, HRG asked Mohinder if he's talked to Claire or Matt Parkman, and what Peter told him. HRG asked if he heard about people with abilities being abducted and Mohinder said no. As the car arrived towards the garage exit, there were guards all in black waiting. HRG injected Suresh with a tranquilizer to his leg and said "Sorry". As Suresh fell out of the car to the pavement, the men surrounded him with HRG smiling.

Peter arrived home looking for Angela but found Nathan there instead. Peter confronted Nathan about his latest plans to round up the heroes. Peter told him he's turning his back on his own kind. Nathan told Peter he'd like his advice about some things, in an attempt to extend an olive branch. Nathan suggested they have dinner later on to talk. As Peter was leaving, Nathan asked him what abilities he has these days. Peter asked him what the last thing he saw him do was and Nathan said he flew.

Parkman noticed the turtle was out of its cage on the floor. He asked it how it escaped and suddenly noticed the precog was standing there. Matt asked him how he got into his apartment, and the precog said he wasn't really there. The precog told Matt he wouldn't understand right away but needed to take a new journey. The precog said he didn't understand at first, but eventually it made him a prophet because it was his Calling, just like it is Parkman's. The precog told Matt he will learn to tell the world the future by drawing.

Hiro Nakamura was shown talking into a computer via headset, tracking a position on screen. He told Ando to answer him and apologized for shooting him in the arm. Ando eventually answered, saying he was out fighting crime. Hiro zoomed in via the tracking software to find Ando outside a strip club. Ando told him that the "Ando Cycle" is a chick magnet. Ando was shown sitting on his motorcycle with two women outside the club. Suddenly, men dressed in all black entered Hiro's room and hit him with a tranquilizer then dragged him out. Ando overheard the commotion and when Hiro didn't respond, he took off on his motorcycle.

Parkman was continuing to draw sketches when he received a loud knocking at the door. Matt grabbed his gun and went to answer the door, then found Claire. Claire told Matt she overheard Nathan and Angela talking about taking him down. Matt then showed Claire his drawings of he future, and said he believes they're supposed to come true. One sketch showed Claire and Matt standing side by side with a bullethole through the window. Suddenly, a tranquilized whizzed through the glass window and hit Parkman. Men dressed in all black gears stormed into the room and Claire put up her hands.

Peter arrived to his apartment, and suddenly realized that Nathan was also there. Nathan said he realized they had dinner plans but he wanted to come clear things up about their differences. Nathan said he realized it wasn't easy to lose him as a brother and friend, but what he's doing is very important to the country and the world. Peter told Nathan he's trying to just live a normal life, but Nathan said he's not normal. Nathan asked Peter to be with him on this, but Peter vowed to fight him with everything he had. Nathan shook his head as if he understood, then asked for a hug. Peter obliged, but as the two hugged, someone injected a tranquilizer into Peter's back, knocking him out. HRG was revealed, and Nathan told him not to hurt Peter.

Sylar arrived to Taxidermist Samson Gray's place. Nobody appeared to be home, as Sylar walked through looking around. He spotted a cigar in an ash tray that was recently smoked. Suddenly, a tranquilizer hit Sylar in the back. As he turned, men dressed in all black began firing more tranquilizers into his chest then lassoed his arms with wire to restrain him. Sylar quickly used his powers to expel the tranquilizers out of him and get himself out of the restraints. Sylar tossed the various assailants around the room and began zapping them with lightning. Finally he used his power to pick one agent up and asked him who he was. Sylar began to buzzsaw into the man's head, and the man admitted he was Agent Daniel Simmons. Sylar asked where Mr. Gray was, and the man said he didn't know. Sylar then asked who sent him and since the man wouldn't answer, Sylar began to cut into his forehead to find out.

Ando tried to crack a code on Hiro's computer to gain access. After finally getting the proper password, he saw where Hiro was located on the tracking grid.

Nathan awaited the arrival of the detained people with abilities in a huge airplane hangar. Armed men as well as the man who originally held a gun to Suresh were present to escort in the detainees. The man told Nathan there was a situation where they lost communication with the team that was supposed to get Sylar. Nathan angrily told the man he was supposed to make sure a bullet went to the back of Sylar's head. The man told him there was another situation. They brought a restrained individual dressed in all orange and a mask over and revealed it was Claire. A groggy Claire told Nathan she hated him and he wouldn't get away with this. Nathan told Claire she needed to get back home and forget all she'd seen, then put her in the back of a car.

Armed agents lead the prisoners all dressed in orange hazard suits with gas masks and some sort of regulatory devices on their chests. The prisoners were shackled together and lead into the back of a large cargo plane. Meanwhile as a man drove the black car away with Claire in it, she came to. In a burst of energy Claire managed to kick the man in the head causing him to hit his head against the window, shattering it. Claire escaped out of the car, and began to hustle onto the runway where the plane was preparing for takeoff. Claire managed to sneak into the plane right before takeoff without being seen. Nathan watched as the plane took off.

As the plane was airborne, Claire snuck into the main area where the prisoners were all cuffed down in seats. She waited for the guards to become occupied then snuck over to unmask one of the individuals, revealing it was Hiro. She replaced the mask, then unmasked another and found it was Peter. Claire tore a nose patch away from Peter and shook him to wake him up. Peter said he no longer had strength, then noticed that Suresh's hands were near his. Claire tore off Suresh's mask and his nose piece. Peter managed to touch Suresh's hand enough to absorb some of his power, then was able to free himself of his cuffs. Peter told Claire to wake the others up.

Claire unmasked several others to reveal Tracy Strauss and Matt Parkman among those taken in. As the guards noticed this, Peter walked straight at them and began to fight using his regained strength. He yelled for Claire to go to the cockpit. Claire picked up a loose tranquilizer and headed off. Claire took out one guard then got into the cockpit and told the pilot they'd be making an unexpected landing. Suddenly, Claire saw the co-pilot was her own father, HRG, who was shocked to see her there.

Meanwhile back in the cargo area, Peter continued to fight. A guard overpowered him and knocked him towards Tracy. As Peter touched hands he gained her power to freeze objects. The guard knocked Peter towards the back of the cargo area and as Peter's hand touched the wall he turned it to ice. The back area shattered causing the plane to begin losing pressure, as well as one of the guards. As the plane lost pressure it began to plummet towards the ground. Peter struggled to hold onto a cargo net as the pressure caused a vacuum. Suddenly, the net loosened from its straps and Peter began to fall back. Suresh extended a hand to grab him so that Peter wouldn't fly out. To be continued....
