Heroes Season 2 Premieres Tonight!

Heroes fans, the date has finally come, 9/24/07. The wait is finally over, because tonight marks the premiere of Heroes Season 2. We've waited several months since last seeing Peter, Nathan, Hiro, Niki, Sylar and the various characters doing battle and finding themselves through their powers, and each other. A recent TV ad aired on NBC and gave a glimpse of several scenes from the new season, one of which included Peter Petrelli crouched in a corner. This would seem to indicate Peter will be alive and kicking (as we could have guessed from recent media interviews and news stories). Also shown in the commercial was Niki Sanders and son Micah, our favorite indestructible cheerleader, Claire Bennet, as well as the villain many love to hate, Sylar. You can check out the ad for Heroes' Season 2 here.

The snyopsis/tagline for tonight's premiere episode: "Deadly new threats loom as the heroes rebuild their lives". Will there be new villains revealed right off the bat? (In a bit of speculation from the above TV ad, it looks like Sylar just might form an alliance, and or get a girlfriend). Some recent Heroes' interviews have indicated Season 2 will hit the ground running, just as Heroes fans have come to enjoy.

The main question to ponder now: will Heroes suffer from the dreaded "Sophomore Slump"? From what has been reported, it appears there are going to be many more characters introduced this season. Now this could make the show tougher to follow, especially if new fans are jumping on board and are trying to get to know the original heroes. Will the show be able to keep up with the frantic pace it was on during Season 1, or will it be diluted by all these new characters? The best guess would have us putting our continued faith in the great writers behind this show, who seem to introduce new heroes and villains just right and keep the stories relatively easy to follow. Also, seeing new heroes with cool new superpowers is always a plus for not only the viewers but also Peter Petrelli when he meets them (and absorbs their powers)..And as for supervillain Sylar, it will give him plenty of brains to choose from and snack upon.

The Season 2 premiere of Heroes will air tonight at 9PM EST on NBC. If you are unable to watch it, DVR it, TIVO it, or (GASP) tape it on your VCR, you can always check out the episode tomorrow on NBC.com's impressive Heroes website, with live streaming episodes all season long.

Websites for Heroes Fans

If you're new to the show, or simply a Heroes fanatic like so many fans, here's some sites for your Heroes viewing pleasure:

The NBC Heroes website includes just about anything Heroes-related, and could really take some time to peruse. Included are character bios, image galleries, blogs by various cast and Heroes staff, videos, a Primatech paper company site, a site dedicated to the work of Mohinder Suresh and much more.

As of right now the Heroes character bios still include questionable returns such as Isaac Mendez, Simone Deveaux, DL Hawkins, Matt Parkman and Nathan Petrelli. The bios are subject to change as new characters enter into the show, but they will give you plenty of background info.

Another fun site to check out is the 9th Wonder Forum. There are many Heroes fans there giving constant discussion on theories, speculations, the characters and things they love and hate about the shows. A great interactive spot for fans to express their views and meet more like-minded fans.

The Heroes Wikipedia entry is also a great read, as it presents great information on all the characters, their powers, the mysterious "Heroes symbol", and much more!

Make sure to tune in for the show tonight and enjoy the wild ride as Season 2 begins! Check back here on Tuesday for a full recap of Season 2, episode 1!
