Season 3: Episode 316: "Building 26"

The Bennets are shown at a family breakfast. Sandra asks HRG if the new job will keep him close to home. Claire's brother Lyle asks what a consultant does. HRG starts to tell him as Claire gets a text message from "Rebel". He asks for her help in warning someone, but Claire texts back she can't right now. Sandra asks Claire what colleges she liked. Claire says she doesn't know. HRG says he liked "Brown", causing Claire to get up and leave. HRG tells Sandra maybe Claire would be better at a community college. HRG confronts Claire in her room about telling Sandra anything. HRG reminds Claire she brought a plane down out of the sky and a lot of federal agents have died. HRG sticks to his plan saying he's trying to protect her. HRG tells Claire she's going to Costa Verde Community college and is already enrolled. Claire gets another text message from Rebel "Warn Alex at Sam's Comics on Buford".

At Building 26 in DC, the head hunter briefs his team about the targets they're tracking, and says Claire is protected. Head hunter says if things change they will take out Claire. Nathan enters the room and tells them Claire is still off limits. Nathan takes over the briefing, saying some of these individuals they're tracking are scared. Nathan says he put in a request to double their funding from the White House. A picture is shown of Sylar on the bulletin board.

Luke and Sylar continue on their trip down the road. Luke says they should stop and grab some food. Luke says its a long way until they get to Sylar's dad. Sylar asks him where his dad is exactly. Luke says they need to keep heading west. Sylar screeches the car to a halt off the road and demands Luke tell him where his father is. Luke makes up several stories about where Sylar's dad is. Sylar realizes he's lying and puts his hand on Luke's throat. He tells Luke he can tell someone's lying because he saws open their heads and checks their brains. A highway camera up above captures Sylar's image and sends it back to Building 26 operations center. One man informs the head hunter.

Claire goes to Sam's Comics to warn Alex, who is in disbelief that a girls is asking to talk with him. Claire tells him he needs to get out of there immediately, and since he doesn't believe her, Claire cuts her palm with a nearby box cutter to show him she can heal up. Just then, HRG enters the store. Claire and Alex hide in an aisle from HRG. As HRG walks around, Alex goes up to him asking if he can help him. HRG talks to him about oustanding parking tickets and says they should go talk outside. Claire calls HRG's phone from the other aisle as a distraction, and Alex throws a shelf of comics on top of HRG. Claire and Alex take off running then hop into Alex's car to get away. HRG calls in requesting a team. During their escape, Claire discusses that agents are rounding up those with special abilities. Alex reveals to Claire his ability is to breathe underwater. They discuss feeling like freaks with their abilities, and Alex realizes he's not alone now. Just then they notice a car passing by again as if it's casing them. The two get out and hide as agents descend on the scene, checking the car.

In New Delhi, India, Ando and Hiro arrive at the wedding area, seeing the same spot from Parkman's drawing. Hiro and Ando discuss stopping the wedding. As Hiro rushes off, Ando spots the woman from Parkman's photo and goes to talk to her. The woman introduces herself as Annapura. She tells Ando she's sad because she doesn't really want to get married. Ando tells her to call off the wedding then. She says she's been waiting for a sign to tell her what to do. Ando shows her his hands and causes them to pulsate and show off his electric sparks from his ability. Annapura says Ando's the sign she's been waiting for. Hiro rushes in to see what's going on. Hiro tells her he's the sign not Ando. Annapura exclaims the wedding is off.

Abby Collins introduces herself to Nathan, saying Homeland Security has her investigating the case so they can decide about funding. Nathan tells her Eaglerock prison isn't adequate for their needs. Abby confronts Nathan about her disbelief in his whole operation. Nathan asks who put her on the assignment. Abby says people close to the president are concerned over this operation. Nathan tries to convince her they are dealing with a threat unlike one ever seen before in the country. Nathan says he's going to speak to the president directly. Abby says she's the new boss and demands to see Nathan's prisoner immediately.

Luke and Sylar pull up to a diner to eat. Sylar tells Luke to stop trying to be his friend. Luke then asks Sylar if he likes birds, saying that Sylar's dad was into them. Luke reminisces about riding in a rusty red wagon, pulled by Sylar's dad. Sylar says he remembers being pulled in the same wagon too. Sylar begins to recall his childhood and Luke says Sylar's dad sold him for money. Sylar asks why he would tell Luke that, and Luke says maybe he reminded him of Sylar.

Nathan brings Abby to see the prisoner and she's shocked when she sees it is Tracy Strauss. The two know each other from previous work. Abby tells Nathan this is insane to be shackling her to a chair. Nathan says they need better funding. Abby says she's going to shut the operation down today and then filing a human rights motion against Nathan for torturing people. Tracy screams for Abby as she leaves the room and shuts the door.

Annapura serves food to Hiro and Ando at her restaurant. Annapura says that Deepak (her arranged husband) is a dangerous and powerful man, and her grandfather was too scared to deny the wedding request. Hiro is upset with Ando for ruining things because Hiro was the one who was supposed to be the hero in Matt's drawing. Just then, Deepak comes into the restaurant and begins shouting at Annapura. Ando rushes in to intervene and Annapura tells Deepak that Ando is her friend. Deepak becomes enraged saying that Ando stopped the wedding. He grabs a pot and clocks Ando on the head. Deepak takes off with Ando just as Hiro rushes in to try to save him.

HRG speaks with the head hunter by phone. The head hunter notes that Claire's car was parked about a half block from where HRG is right now. HRG covers for her saying she had some errands to run in the area. The head hunter says they'll talk.

Luke and Sylar eat at the diner where Sylar and he discuss what their powers are for. Luke fools around with his making a man's drink warm up and sizzle in his hands. Sylar tells him not to draw attention to them, and always have a reason for using his powers. Luke asks Sylar what his motives are with his powers. Sylar says it used to be acquiring abilities but now he just wants to meet his father and look him in the eyes. Luke writes down the name and address of where Sylar's dad can be found, a 2 day drive. Suddenly, agents arrive into the diner ready to grab Sylar. Sylar and Luke head for the emergency exit. More men descend on the spot with rifles and guns. One sticks a gun to the back of Sylar's head, but Luke causes interference, allowing Sylar to throw the man back with telekinesis. Sylar and Luke bust threw a window. Sylar gets in the car to take off, but keeps Luke locked out of the car. As Sylar speeds away the men surround and take Luke down to the ground as a prisoner. Sylar sees it go down through the rearview mirror.

Hiro and the Anapura discuss Ando's fate now that Deepak has him prisoner. She says he'll late Ando go only if the wedding continues. Hiro asks what happens if the wedding doesn't go forth and the woman doesn't answer. The wedding ceremony begins with Hiro rushing out yelling for them to stop. Hiro tells everyone that he's kidnapped his friend, and that Anapura is being forced into marriage. Anapura tells her grandfather this won't make her happy. Deepak grabs Anapura by the arm to take her away saying they had a deal. Hiro rushes over and tells him he won't allow this, then punches Deepak down. With a knife in hand, Hiro threatens the man and tells him to give back Ando. Deepak says the wedding is off because this is too much trouble, and that Hiro can have his lousy friend back. Hiro realizes that he just lived out the moment in Matt Parkman's drawing, making him a hero.

HRG confronts Claire about what she's doing near his vicinity. She tells him she was applying for a job. HRG says he knows she's lying. HRG tells her she's not invincible, and she doesn't understand what happens if he can't control her. Claire tells him he can't control her.

Nathan talks to the head hunter. He lets Nathan know that Sylar got away, but they got Luke. Abby walks in and hands a "cease and desist" order to shut down the operation. Nathan takes her aside to try to convince her otherwise. As they're talking, Tracy Strauss begins yanking at the chains binding her hands to the floor. She's able to rip free of the restraints somehow by pulling on them. As Nathan continues to try to convince Abby, suddenly Tracy has broken free and is out in the building. Abby and Nathan rush over to see guards surrounding Tracy. Tracy's got one man with her chains around his neck. The man breaks free and hits Tracy, but she grabs his arm and freezes him until he falls to the ground and breaks into pieces. The "fire" order is given, taking Tracy down to the ground with one shot. Abby looks on at the incident in shock.

Abby begins to look over the photos of the various heros they are targeting. Nathan apologizes that she had to see what she did today. He tells her these people are dangerous and Abby says she'll make sure he gets enough funding for their operation.

Claire talks with Sandra about her day. Claire tells Sandra that HRG was too busy today to spend time with her. Claire reveals to Sandra that HRG hasn't been working as a consultant like he told her. Claire says instead they are taking away people with powers for a new operation. Sandra is shocked at the information as Claire tells her they took Matt Parkman, Suresh and Peter among others. Claire says she can't lie to her anymore. Just then HRG walks in with a bag of Indian food. Sandra tells Claire to go upstairs, then tells HRG she can't take anymore of what he's doing. Sandra starts to yell at HRG and he yells back saying he has no choice in the matter, because he wants to protect Claire.

Tracy is back in her cell again, restrained down and under heat lamps. Nathan confronts her saying he doesn't know how she got out but it won't happen again. Tracy says she knows he set this up so she could break out, creating a scene for Abby to witness. Tracy says next time she will escape.

The agents begin to drive off with Luke restrained in their van, but as it backs up, something happens. The van stops and men are heard being beat up, knocked around and screaming out in pain. The mayhem is heard at the control center and they begin trying to page the team. Suddenly, the back door of the van opens. Out hops one guard who removes his mask to reveal himself as Sylar. Sylar then unplugs the apparatus from Luke and puts him on his shoulder, saving his new "friend". The back of the van shows a pile of bloody and dead agents.

Annapura gives a fax to Ando and Hiro from the mysterious "Rebel" with the words "Save Matt Parkman" on it. Hiro says it's a message from destiny.

HRG tells Claire that Sandra wants him to move out, because he keeps too many secrets from her. He tells Claire he's going to try to be a better person, better father and husband, who doesn't tell lies. HRG says if they all work to be honest, maybe they can heal their wounds. Claire begins to cry and HRG tells her he loves her. As HRG leaves, Claire's new friend comes out from hiding in her room.

Luke thanks Sylar for saving him, but Sylar admits he wanted to figure out how the agents work. Sylar tries to pretend it wasn't for that as he turns on the radio and the song "Psycho Killer" is playing.

Nathan tells the head hunter that Mark Leggett is the analyst who died in the hallway today. Nathan said he had a family he left behind too, and confronts the head hunter saying he allowed Tracy to escape. The hunter tells him he's sorry but sometimes it has to be done and he saved Nathan in the process. Nathan tells the hunter to go apologize to his blood stain.

HRG drowns his sorrows at a hotel bar. HRG asks the bartender if she knows of a place he can stay in town. She says she doesn't but welcomes him to Costa Verde. Just then HRG becomes fuzzy and looks down at his drink. He takes off his glasses, rubs his head then collapses onto the floor. Suddenly, three men from around the bar get up from various tables. As they come into focus, it's Peter Petrelli, Mohinder Suresh and Matt Parkman. They walk over and help HRG up, telling the bartender their friend had too many, but they'll make sure he gets home safe.
