Season 1: Episode 11 - "Fallout"

Tonight's episode was the first to feature all of the important characters in it. We finally got to see several heroes meet who hadn't before and were left with some major revelations/cliffhangers to keep us anticipating that 1.22.07 episode..Such a wait..

We saw that DL was shot by Jessica/Niki, but that he survived and took off for the woods with Micah. Jessica pursued on foot all the way to a log cabin rundown home in the woods. Jessica then threw DL across the yard and was about to shoot DL. Micah yelled for them to stop fighting, and Jessica threw Micah against a pile of rocks, injuring him. Niki then emerged and realized she was having a problem. Next thing we see is Niki turning herself into police as her Micah and DL are exiting the woods. She tells a cop to arrest her.

Peter is in jail and gets a visit from big brother Nathan. Nathan says he's there to bail him out and can't believe Peter left for TX like that. All of a sudden, Sylar is in place of Nathan, haunting Peter. Peter awakes from a terrible vision. Detective Matt Parkman and his FBI partner are in TX investigating the latest Sylar appearance and murder. Parkman realizes there must have been more than 1 individual with Sylar in the woods. Parkman and his partner visit with Peter Petrelli in jail to interview him about the murder. What ensues is one cool, tripped-out double mind reading situation. Peter absorbs Matt's power and both of them begin to read each other's thoughts plus the female detectives. Peter doesn't know what is going on and yells "what are you doing to me". Matt determines that Claire is the cheerleader who Peter refers to in "save the cheerleader". He and his partner leave to investigate further.

Claire also is interrogated by Matt's partner, but with Matt outside the one way window, trying to read thoughts. Since HRG is sitting alongside Claire, Matt is unable to read any thoughts. (Or the fact that Haitian is at the police station) Matt tells his partner he couldn't get a thing from Claire or her father and that he heard a static, plain silence interfering with his reading of thoughts. They stakeout the school, and see HRG talking with Haitian. Matt attempts to concentrate and hear their thoughts. He gives himself a nosebleed in the process and tells his partner he could hear just one word "Sylar".

Speaking of Sylar, he is in HRG's custody. They have some great Hannibal Lecture-Clarice like dialogue exchanges about power, being special and their roles. HRG informs Sylar he is going to be cut apart and studied. Sylar tells HRG he is going to take his daughter's "sweet gift". Prior to all this, we see HRG walking with Eden. HRG is on the phone with someone who we aren't aware of, being told to keep Sylar alive. Eden suggests that she use her power to tell Sylar to shoot himself. She attempts to do this one night, with HRG not around. Unfortunately, it backfires, Sylar's power is too great, he uses telekinesis and pulls Eden straight through the glass window of his cell. Soon she is aiming the gun at herself and we hear a gunshot. We see blood over the shattered glass.

Claire and her father stop by to thank Peter for saving her. HRG informs Peter, "maybe one day I'll return the favor for you", which probably has big implications. Peter and Claire talk alone, and Claire asks how long he's known he can do this. Peter asks Claire if she has the power to heal, and she says yes. Peter says its new to him, he wasn't expecting to live after he fell. Claire tells Peter he is her hero. They discuss the line of save the cheerleader, save the world.

Meanwhile, HRG and Haitian are removing memories from those who knew of Claire's ability. The first to get it is Claire's "brother", who shows no recollection of Claire's ability when she talks to him. Then Zach, her best friend who had videotaped her crazy episodes has the same problems, and Claire takes off running. She goes to her home and phones HRG telling him she is scared because someone got to Zach and her brother. HRG tells her to stay put and he will be right there. Next, we see someone enter Claire's home and walk up to her. It's Haitian who puts his hand over Claire's mouth and tells her he is there to help her father erase her memory. He asks "Can you keep a secret?". Maybe some morself of knowledge will be buried deep in Claire's psyche for later.

The other meeting that finally occurs is Isaak, Hiro and Ando. Eden comes to Isaak (before her death) and tells Isaak she needs to leave the area to get away. She hands Isaak a cell phone and bus pass and tells him "save the world". Isaak phones Hiro with the cell and they setup a meeting. Later, Isaak steps off a bus at a diner in Texas and talks with Hiro and Ando. He discusses his power with Hiro and vice versa. He tells them he needs to be high to paint. Later we discover he can do it without being high. Isaak talks about how he painted an exploding man. Hiro asks "how do you stop an exploding man?" Later Isaak paints a beautiful portrait of Hiro wielding a sword vs a T-Rex. Isaak does this drug free. Hiro exclaims "I need to get that sword".

Then the climactic, cliffhanger moment. Peter is bailed out of jail by his brother, Nathan. As they are leaving the station, Peter starts coughing and falls down, fainting. We see a vision Peter has. He is walking through New York and we see streets full of abandoned cars. Peter is walking towards Matt Parkman who's motioning to him to either stay back or get away. We see Niki, Micah and DL near Matt. We see Mohinder step out of a cab and look at Peter, smiling. Peter sees Simone looking over at him and then Isaak run out and grab her away, almost protecting her. Then we see Nathan come walking out of a building with banners above it promoting his election. Nathan has a very suspicious, almost evil/sinister look upon his face. Then we see Nathan begin crying out and shining bursts of energy..Explosion.

Blog Correction: We see Peter begin crying out and shining burts of energy then the explosion. Thanks to psimaster for this..it's easy to confuse the brothers :)
