As fans brace themselves for Heroes Season 3, several of the major players for the show have been doing their part to promote. Recently Heroes Creator Tim Kring and one of its stars, Zachary Quinto (Sylar) sat down with The Deadbolt in a revealing interview. Topics touched upon were Sylar's presence for Season 3, the concept of dysfunctional families, and lingering questions in the Heroes world.

Tim Kring on how questions will be answered:

"Some of those questions will linger a little bit. But, actually, by the end of the third hour of the show you have kind of mosted those. I mean one of the goals of this season was, because we had been off the air for - we'll have been off the air for nine months - we didn’t want to drag a lot of story behind us. We didn’t want to feel like you had to have watched two years of this show to catch up. So we wanted to answer things really quickly so that you could move forward on this volume and have a kind of clean path in front of you. So there really are not a lot of lingering questions that you carry with you from before. The goal for us, from now on with these volumes, is to try and answer literally ninety five percent of the questions that are posed in the beginning of the volume [that] will be answered by the end of the volume. This particular volume, 'Villains', is thirteen episodes long."

Milo Ventimiglia also sat down with canmag.com to discuss Heroes Season 3. In his interview, Ventimiglia sort of kicks around the same idea that Kring does, saying there's a good and bad side to each of them. Also the interview discusses the reunion of the brothers Petrelli, and a discussion of the death of characters.

Ventimiglia says:

"Villains" seems to promise more screen time for the likes of Sylar, but Ventimiglia also reminded fans that it could reveal some new sides to other characters. "I think there's definitely a light and dark side to everybody. It just depends on what kind of situation we find ourselves in to bring that out. So we're walking in shadow or walking through the light."

In another note regarding the upcoming season (which starts 9.22), iTunes has re-aligned itself with NBC to add Heroes into its downloadable TV show content. In addition to Heroes, other NBC shows such as The Office, 30 Rock and Monk. Also, High-Def programs will be offered at the iTunes store, in conjunction with a brand new release of the Apple iTunes software, which debuted this past Tuesday.

Many Heroes faithful fans have been disappointed in the quality of Season 2. It seems lacking at many points and a bit forced with the storytelling as compared to Season 1. There's been several new characters thrown into the mix, at least 3 love stories going on, a case of amnesia and at times even a "dumbed down" feel compared to last season. The show is set to potentially end Season 2 as of December 3, thanks to the recent writers' strike in Hollywood.

EW Online has a recent candid conversation with Heroes creator Tim Kring in which he discusses why Season 2 was a wash. Kring discusses the new additions to the cast, the love stories, and Hiro being back in Japan for such a long part of the season. Here's a bit from it:

"Yet while Heroes has finally found some dramatic traction, this second volume is pretty much a wash. The Dec. 3 episode has been retooled to function as a potential season finale — a move inspired by the writers' strike and a desire to give the show ''a clean slate'' when it goes back into production for Volume 3. At that point, Kring wants to craft a rebooted Heroes that can attract new fans and win back those who've tuned out: ''The message is that we've heard the complaints — and we're doing something about it.''"

It's great to see the guy at the helm of a hit show actually admit to the show's flaws like this. From the sounds of it, we can expect great things from Season 3, whenever it may start. Full EW.com article here.

TV Guide's latest Heroes preview reveals quite a few interesting tidbits about upcoming shows on the series.

- Kristen Bell is set to appear on the next few episodes as an operative for The Company named Elle. She describes herself as "like Claire gone bad" and says "Pain is amusing to Elle". Apparently she has a special power she uses for her own amusement and was mistreated as a child as her parents exploited her.

She's also a spoiled brat. "When she shows up in Ireland to locate Peter [Milo Ventimiglia], she does not succeed and that gets her pretty ticked. She takes out her aggres­sion on the locals."

- Heroes creator Tim Kring has said the picture we saw of "The 12 elder heroes" will come into play and we will be meeting characters from that picture on upcoming shows. According to Kring the picture was not easy to create either but is as accurate as possible.

- The Matt Parkman storyline holds more for us in terms of why he is not with his wife in Los Angeles and living in New York. We will see more about this on upcoming shows.

Creator Tim Kring on Season 2, More

Heroes' creator Tim Kring was part of a conference call this past Thursday, discussing the upcoming season. From E! News comes the following:

"We can expect to spend a little more time this year on a few storylines per episode that will allow us to highlight certain characters each week," he said. "By extension, some characters will be left out of episodes each week."

The show's creator and executive producer also noted that several new villains are in the works, one of whom may be the "Boogeyman" haunting the dreams of little Molly Walker last season.

Kring also confirmed that Star Trek staple George Takei is returning as Hiro's father and revealed that producers are looking "for another face that will have a very similar impact" to Takei for genre fans.

Collins is now the second confirmed new cast addition. A character named Maya Herrera, played by Dania Ramirez, will emerge as a new hero from South America, although Kring is mum on her secret power.

Then there's the prequel/spinoff, Heroes: Origins, scheduled to air during the original's winter hiatus.

During Origins' six-episode run, fans will have the chance to vote online for their favorite new hero, who will then be added to the cast of the main series. At last week's Comic-Con, Kring announced that comic book-lovin' Clerks director Kevin Smith will write and direct an episode of Origins.

Meanwhile, Kring scuttled talk of a big-screen Heroes anytime soon. "The show is doing everything a movie would do," he said.

"I'm not sure what story we would tell."
